CONCACAF Gold Cup Brings USA to Seattle on July 4th and Canada Kick off Tournament

In a press conference still going on, the draw was announced for the 2009 CONCACAF GOLD Cup. Qwest Field will host USA v Grenada and Haiti v Honduras on July 4th. The competition will kick odd at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles on 3 July when Canada and Jamaica meet followed by Costa Rica and El Salvador, and end with the final on July 26th at Giants Stadium.
Mexico will anchor Group C, which will begin in San Francisco on July 5 with Panama facing Guadeloupe and El Tri playing Nicaragua.
CONCACAF General Secretary Chuck Blazer will unveil the three four-team groups for the 2009 Gold Cup, the confederation’s showpiece event for men’s national teams that crowns the regional champion.

The 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ will be played in a record 13 different US cities, opening at The Home Depot Center in Los Angeles on 3 July and concluding with the championship match 26 July at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. The venues are Gillette Stadium, Boston (Foxborough, Massachusetts); Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia,; Dallas Cowboys New Stadium, Dallas (Arlington, Texas); Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, San Francisco (Oakland); Soldier Field, Chicago; Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium (RFK), Washington; FIU Stadium, Miami; Qwest Field, Seattle; Columbus Crew Soccer News Topics Stadium, Columbus, Ohio; Reliant Stadium, Houston; Giants Stadium, New York (East Rutherford, New Jersey); University of Phoenix Stadium, Phoenix (Glendale, Arizona); and The Home Depot Center, Los Angeles (Carson, California).
